Why Is This Grant Being Offered?
Several rural areas in Italy are experiencing a decline in population. In particular, the population of Trentino province has decreased so much that there are still numerous abandoned houses. To revitalize these regions, the Italian government has launched a special initiative.
How Can You Receive This Grant?
According to the Italian government’s plan, if you relocate to Trentino and establish permanent residency, you will receive:
- For purchasing a house: €20,000 grant.
- For renovating an abandoned house: €88,000 grant.
Both Italian citizens and foreigners are eligible to participate in this program. However, there is a condition: recipients must reside in the area for at least 10 years. Otherwise, the grant must be refunded.
Which Towns in Trentino Are Included in This Program?
A total of 33 towns in Trentino will be part of this initiative. Many of these towns have seen drastic population declines, and in some places, the number of abandoned houses exceeds the current population. The government is expected to approve this plan soon.
